Boobs & Blossoms is more than a walk or run. It is a celebration of life, a tribute to those we have lost, a show of support for those fighting cancer and an opportunity to stand together as a community in raising awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.

Hosted by the wonderful Pirates Running Club community in Johannesburg in partnership with the Machi Filotimo Cancer Project, Boobs & Blossoms has become a meaningful annual gathering that brings people together through a shared purpose: to honour, to remember, to support and to inspire hope.

From runners and walkers to families, friends, four-legged companions, sponsors, supporters and our valued partners, everyone is welcome. Whether you join us in memory of a loved one, in celebration of a survivor, in support of someone currently navigating cancer, or simply because you believe in making a difference, you are part of something truly special.

The meaning behind Boobs & Blossoms

The name Boobs & Blossoms represents the beauty, strength, vulnerability and resilience that exist within every cancer journey.

Boobs represents our commitment to breast cancer awareness, encouraging conversations about breast health, recognising potential warning signs and reminding people of the importance of seeking medical advice and attending appropriate screening.

Blossoms represents life, growth, renewal, remembrance and hope. Just as a blossom continues to carry beauty through changing seasons, the memories of our loved ones remain with us, while the courage of survivors and those still fighting reminds us of the extraordinary strength of the human spirit.

Together, Boobs & Blossoms creates a space where awareness meets compassion, where stories are shared, where memories are honoured, and where no one needs to feel alone on their cancer journey.

Honouring our angels, remembering the precious lives lost to cancer and ensuring their stories, love, and legacies continue to live on.

Our Journey from 2022 to 2026

Over the years, Boobs & Blossoms has grown into a special occasion on the Filotimo calendar, a morning where pink is worn with pride, memories are shared with love and our community comes together with open hearts.

Each annual gathering adds another chapter to our story. Behind every photograph are people, experiences, emotions, and personal journeys that remind us why awareness matters and why community support is so important.

As we look back on 2022 to 2026, we celebrate not only the events themselves, but also the connections made, the awareness created, the lives remembered and the hope carried forward.

For Machi Filotimo Cancer Project, Boobs & Blossoms holds a particularly special place in our hearts. It reflects the very essence of Filotimo: compassion, generosity, love and a deep commitment to doing good for others.

We gather to remember those who are no longer with us, to stand beside those who continue to fight and to celebrate those who have survived. We gather to remind every person affected by cancer that their story matters and that they are part of a community that cares.

As we continue this journey, our hope is that Boobs & Blossoms will inspire more people to prioritise their health, speak openly about cancer, support one another and understand the difference that early detection and compassionate support can make.
